First tighten the sliding joint nut at the flange end of the pvc pipe and slide the sliding joint washer down onto the thread of the pvc pipe fitting. The flat side of the slip joint washer should rest against the mating threads.
Step 6
Slide the slip pvc pipe fitting joint nut down onto the slip joint washer, then turn the nut clockwise to secure the nut to the fitting and compress the slip joint washer.
Step 7
Repeat this process for each slip pvc pipe fitting joint connection.
Step 8
Turn on the water and check each slip joint for leaks. If the connection leaks, first make sure the sliding joint nut is tight. If the slip joint nut is tight and water still leaks, remove the slip joint nut to ensure that the slip joint washer is not installed and the tapered end faces the joint thread.
